Airborne Detect and Avoid (DAA)
KMB's airborne imaging radar is a flexible solution that can provide all-weather detect and avoid (DAA) capability to all unmanned aerial systems (UAS). KMB’s software-defined architecture can be adapted to the full range of UAS form factors, from tiny battery-powered commercial drones to large Class 4 and 5 UAS.
The KMB Flyweight™ radar draws just 1W of power average and can be mounted on small drones with very tight size, weight, power, and cost (SWAP-C) restrictions. For larger drones KMB can offer DO-366A compliant radar that allows flight anywhere in the National Airspace System (NAS).
KMB software-defined imaging radar is a generation ahead of legacy phased array radars. The KMB Airborne DAA Radar draws one half the power of a current-generation phased array for detection of comparable targets at comparable range. The system is lightweight, easy to integrate, and can be made conformal or even hollow for easier integration with the airframe.
